The certification and recognition of high level hair colorists has been a much needed practice and vision of professionals in our industry some decades now. Luckily, there is a professional platform known as The American Board of Certified Hair Colorists. This platform’s goal is to establish an industry standard in which competence, excellence, and career achievement is judged and recognized. This process results in creating credibility in the eyes of the consumer.
The verification for the certification is not for the faint of heart. Studying for the certification process is intense, even for a career, seasoned colorist. It is also expensive and time consuming. The certification consists of multiple segments including chemistry, practical application, professionalism, client phycology, and color theory, as applies to the vocation.
