Burdock root. Good for the scalp.

Baby, it’s dry outside!

It hasn’t rained the valley in a long time. As the weather cools off and we begin to use our heaters, it causes us to live in some very dry conditions both inside and out. This can lead to extremely dry skin and scalp. This can be uncomfortable and your skin or scalp begins to flake, it can also be very unsightly.

There are some simple things you can do to aid your skin and scalp through these trying conditions. Rubbing some vitamin E oil or olive oil into your skin and scalp at night can be a huge help. Also make sure you are drinking plenty of water.

If it just won’t stay under control you might want to try the Scalp Remedy line from Aveda. It has been relaunched due to popular demand and we think it really helps. The shampoo gently cleanses hair and scalp, so all hair types look and feel healthy. It contains a nurturing blend including burdock root, echinacea and sage. The conditioner is very moisturizing and works hard to balance and soothe your poor dry scalp.

Give them a try and, in the meantime, let’s all hope for a little rain!
