Everyone knows that a hot shower can be delightful. What a lot of people don’t know is that cold rinses have a ton of benefits for your body and hair. Hot and cold rinses are beneficial to the body because it helps stimulate our nervous system. Rinsing your hair with cold water can promote the longevity of color. If you have uncolored hair, cold water rinses are still a great health benefit because cold water helps to seal & lay the cuticle down which leads to increased shine with a smoother hair strand. Because cold water is stimulating, this also increases the ability for hair to grow. I know it can be hard to rinse with cool or cold water, especially as we get into the winter months so I always suggest clipping your hair up out of the way to take a shower at the regular temperature you like. Finally, turn it to cool to wash your hair at the end of you’re shower. You’ll feel and see the benefits of the cold water as soon as your dried off!
