DRUM ROLL PLEASE!

Our very own Lauren Hart has been appointed to this year’s line up at The YELP Small Business Advisory Council! Today marks the public announcement from the on-line review platform, YELP.

So what the heck does that mean?!

YSBAC members will participate in regular conference calls to provide input on existing features, policies, products under development, and to brainstorm new ideas. New members will also participate in our annual summit held at Yelp HQ where they’ll meet with Yelp’s top executives and department heads to share their perspectives as small business owners.

Not familiar with YELP? YELP was founded to help people find local businesses in their area. Ranging from restaurants to doctors offices, YELP has it all! Not only does it assist you in finding a variety of businesses and services, it’s a place where you can write reviews and share your wonderful experiences with all of your fellow YELP’ers. We have a few tips and tricks to keep you up on your YELP game!

1) Make sure your profile is up to date. This includes making sure your profile picture is an actual picture of you, and not just the default settings. Doing this allows fellow readers to know they’re reading legitimate feedback, and not spam.

2) Keep up on your reviews and write as many as you can! Having only one written review on your page can look suspicious, and will make it hard for review to stay visible on that businesses’ page.

3) Build relationships — that’s what this site is all about! Having great rapport with fellow yelpers helps not only you, but also helps your reviews to be seen a bunch a more!

These three suggestions will have you becoming a rock star YELP-er in no time!
