We can show you how to do this!

We can show you how to do this!

Ok, so you love your cut. And you love your hair color. So why do you feel like you’re stuck in a rut?

Perhaps it’s time for a change that’s less drastic.

Why not try some different styling products and use of tools? These little changes with product and styling can take you from curly to straight and vice versa. Here at The Root Salon we can help prescribe the best hair styling and hair care products that will not only work best with your hair type but help you possibly change up your look.

For example, when I wear my hair curly, I like to start by drying it with a light mousse for volume. Then I use a fabulous working hair spray to hold my bouncy curls. It’s easy. And if you want to master this look, come on in so I (or one of The Root Salon stylists) can get you the right product and give you a detailed lesson.

For a straight sleek look, a nice serum or smoothing lotion is the best place to start. Then it’s just a matter of using the right tools (paddle brush and blow dryer or flat iron…it all depends on how much curl you naturally have). Again, we can tailor a styling plan that fits your unique hair.

Speaking of tools, there are curling irons or wands, hot rollers, round brushes — I could go on for days. I admit I’m a bit obsessed with styling tools!

The point is that with the right product, expert tools, instruction, and practice, you can easily re-create what we do in the salon. And, after a while, you’ll inevitably fashion styles that are 100% your own creation. Your first step is to book a blow-dry or styling appointment at The Root Salon so we can spend a little extra time to show you the basic techniques.

After all, we love, love, love to play with hair. That’s what got us here in the first place!
