Lessons Learned in Life’s Travels

Thailand! Who could say no to this?

Here at The Root Salon, we love to hear stories about the adventures and misadventures of our clients. And now I’ve been sharing one of my own.

Recently, I went on a two week trip to Thailand.

And while that may sound like a trip of a lifetime, things started off in an unexpected way. Due to certain circumstances, I ended up traveling alone! AND, it was my first time ever to leave the country.

I never, ever thought I’d end up taking my first overseas trip alone. No way! In fact, I always envisioned traveling to a far-away destination with a romantic partner.

Needless to say, I was slightly uneasy with the solo trip. But, resolved to never being intimidated by adventure, I decided to give it a shot.

Having gone to Thailand alone and traveling the country, I not only had the best time and met so many people along the way, I learned so much about myself! I found out that I have the strength to depend on myself and that I have the courage to be spontaneous. I also learned that something like this is exactly what life is about for me – it’s about just taking it as it comes.

I hope the next time you are met with an unexpected change in your life, you remember my story. It may be a small example but this experience changed my perspective and I feel better equipped to handle the twists and turns that life has to offer.
