Summer is almost here...time to prepare that hair!

Summer is almost here…time to prepare that hair!

As the Root Salon team (along with the rest of Phoenix) collectively cringe while watching the temperature rise,we start to think about prepping our clients’ hair for hot weather.

First, let’s talk about color. One of the best things you can do to get yourself ready for the summer is to brighten things up. If you’re brunette, consider adding caramel or copper highlights to your winter hue. And if you’re blonde, we think it’s time to go for it! Think about a crazy-hot fashion tone like pink or violet.

When it comes to texture, summer is the time to break with the straight look. Put down those flat irons and bring out the wave in your hair with L’Oreal Body Activating Mousse or add texture with the Volumetry Fresh Powder (these both work great for next-day hair). Pick up the product and include these in your repertoire now. You’ll be a pro by June!

The harsh Arizona heat is known for its dryness. But dry is not what you want for your hair. To fight the summer frizz and infuse moisture into your strands, get a head start by using the Alfaparf Semi Di Lino moisture line. Especially if you treat your mane now with the Nutritive Mask and the Cristalli Liquidi, your hair will be preemptively pampered by the time the heat really hits.

It’s probably still a bit early to be hitting the pool so it’s the perfect time for you to re-read this post about protecting your hair from mean chlorine.

As always, if you have any questions or want more tips for prepping for our summer heat, give us a call or ask your Root Salon stylist at your next appointment!
