Did you know we have become an official Green Circle Salon?
What does that mean, exactly?
Well, salons produce a lot of waste and, of course, this is a huge problem. We’ve always cared about the environment but with very little options for commercial recycling in Phoenix, we were frustrated with the amount of trash we were disposing every day.
Shortly after we were honored this year by Salon Today, we were contacted by Green Circle salons. This company has an amazing mission. Their aim is to serve the salon industry in a way that has never been available before by providing resources for salons to reduce their waste dramatically.
A typical salon has high water consumption, high energy usage, and releases chemical byproduct down the drain. At the same time many salons strive to be eco-friendly wherever possible, to attract green-minded clients and reduce their footprint.
Green Circle is our new solution to help us reduce this waste. We are recycling everything from hair clippings, used foils, and hair spray cans to unused hair color. It took us a little getting used to but we are now well on our way to being a cleaner business.
We love being a Green Circle partner. To date they have managed to divert 2,359,969.63 pounds of salon waste from landfills and waterways! If you’re curious about all the things we’re doing daily to reduce our waste, ask us at your next appointment!
