If you dwell in the Valley of The Sun, you more than likely know that today is the First Friday of the New Year and there is a lot of fun to be had this evening. For those that aren’t exactly sure what First Friday means to us Phoenicians – First Friday is an art walk/block type party held on the first evening of the first Friday of every month in the area surrounding Roosevelt Row. Thousands of people take to Downtown Phoenix in what is one of the world’s largest self guided art walks. Larger museums – Phoenix Art Museum and The Heard Museum – join in, offering free admission beginning at 5pm. There is no fee for artists to show case their work making it truly feasible for all artists to reach a large number of spectators. So, put on your walking shoes, grab your friends and celebrate the FIRST FRIDAY of the NEW YEAR.
