So many! Where do we start?

So many! Where do we start?

Are you using the right tools to achieve the right style??

From time to time we all get bored of our hair but aren’t in a bold enough mood to change the cut or color (yes- I am a hairstylist and this happens to me sometimes too). When this is the case, I like to recommend a STYLING change!

A STYLING a change will offer a new or updated look to something you already know you like without a need to change the cut or color. Most of the time, a haircut can achieve a “double-identity” (thank you Sam Villa) and be styled straight or curly or wavy or up or down…the list goes on.

I have quite the collection of tools myself and I find it helps keep me trying new things. Here are some tips and tricks I offer to all my clients.

For curls or waves:

To achieve wave or curls I like to use my 1″ Hot Tools curling iron or a 3/4″ styling wand. The curling iron offers a more uniform curl and the wand offers more of a soft wave. I move through my hair in sections so I don’t miss any pieces. To add a little a texture, I like to use a few sprays of L’Oreal Texture spray and finish with a little bit of Architexture wax. Then I scrunch the hair in my hands and go!

For sleek, straight:

For a sleek look, I like to use a large round brush and blow dry. Remember when sectioning your hair for this, don’t take a section too big for your brush. You don’t want the brush getting tangled up in your hair! Sometimes I use a flat iron to ensure this sleek style all day. With this style, I like to apply Alfaparf Extraordinary All-in-one fluid with a drop of Alfaparf Crystalli Liquidi after detangling my hair while it’s still damp.

So go ahead and grab your tools — it’s time to experiment and try something new!
