Okay so you buy a hair dryer and it comes with a bunch of attachments. You stick them in the back of a cupboard and completely forget about them until your next major purge. Then they probably get pitched, right?
Hopefully after reading this blog, you’ll find a reason to hang on to those hair dryer attachments.
At the end of your blow dryer is a coil which produces intense heat and the attachments manipulate this heat to achieve different styling techniques. Typically, you’ll have two attachments. The concentrator is a triangular shaped piece with a narrowed opening. The diffuser is the larger attachment with “fingers” sticking out of the surface.
The concentrator helps to keep the high heat away from your hair but uses the concentrated air flow to smooth down the cuticle. It aims the heat and the air flow directly onto the section of hair that you have on the brush. Make sure to point away from the root area and down towards the ends. This way the cuticle will lay flat which will make the hair more shiny and healthy looking with minimal flyaways!
The diffuser is used to help dry naturally curly hair. It diffuses the force at which the air comes out which helps to dry curly hair more softly, creating a better, less frizzy curl.
Come in and ask your stylist for a demonstration at your next appointment!
