If you know me, you know I love Christmas!
And it won’t be a surprise to anyone to learn that I own a TON of Christmas decor. This year, in my smaller house, my hubby asked me to “purge a little”. But as I unpacked my beautiful decorations I remembered how much I loved them, how much I paid for them, and how much friends and family have enjoyed them over the years. I didn’t want to let them go!
My new home has a shaded courtyard leading up to the front door. I am an avid gardener and this year I went with a very warm theme in my foliage. The Christmas things that did not belong in the interior of my new home were all red. (We lost a red family room when moving into the new house.)
So, as I was putting my beautiful things in the “purge pile” I realized they would be so pretty decorating my shaded courtyard this holiday season. My favorite red items swiftly moved to the courtyard to make a lovely entrance to my new home.
Next time you feel a need to get rid of stuff, take a moment to think about how it might serve another purpose in your home. You might just find a new way to love it all over again!
