As you might know, we are proud members of Local First Arizona and we have been members for 15 years! Local First Arizona is a nonprofit organization that celebrates independent, locally owned businesses. They support, promote and advocate for a strong local business community and raise public awareness of the economic and cultural benefits provided by strong local economies. Local businesses contribute to a sustainable economy for Arizona and build vibrant communities we’re all proud to call home.
Every year there is an event in the summer called “Indie Week”. Usually consumers can obtain a “Golden Ticket” to use for discounts at participating local businesses. We have participated in the week-long event for many years now.
This year, in light of these unusual times, Indie Week is back with a twist!
Starting today (Tuesday, September 1), we are going to celebrate for a whole month with Indie Week XXL. We are excited for this opportunity to rediscover and support Arizona’s small, independent businesses all September long. Yep, a whole month to breath life into struggling, local businesses you love and want to support.
This year, they are doing a bingo style “Consumer Action Card” with 25-themed opportunities and meaningful ways you can support local businesses. As you work on marking off these call-to-actions, you can also enter to win prizes. They will have three winners each week for those who complete diagonals, columns or rows and a “blackout” grand prize winner who completes every square on the card.
