At the Root Salon, we support the beauty and wellness of our clients. These days, we’re packed to the gills with clients who are knee-deep in their mad dash to the finish line for the holiday season.

Feel the stress?

We do, too. So here are three simple ways for all of us to escape the “red zone”.

1. Breathe

It’s amazing how something as simple as purposeful breathing can help bring the blood pressure down. Try pacing your breathing by taking one second to inhale and one second to exhale. Then move to two seconds, three, all the way to ten. This really works!

2. Make a To-Do List

Not only is this a secret of successful people but it’s also an important stress reducer. Make a list of all the things you’d like to get done. Then prioritize. You might realize that you’re letting unrealistic or unimportant to-do items totally freak you out (when the reality is, you can let them go).

3. Take Action

You’ve got your list now it’s time to start crossing off items. Positive actions are the very best way to combat stressful thoughts and feelings.
