Behold: The half top knot.

Behold: The half top knot.

As summer creeps around the corner (oh, who are we kidding? It has slapped us in the face already), we have taken note of a couple new trends that have hit our radar.

This summer, I’ll be throwing up my tresses in the half top knot. I love this look — it’s the top knot’s little sister!

This one’s easy: Gather the hair on the top half of your head into a simple bun, knot, or chignon. Wear the rest of your hair long and embrace its natural texture. This is great for gals with chin length hair wanting an updo (but not quiiiite having the length to get it all up). You can go for a clean, tight bun with straight hair or a messy chignon with wavy hair. Both looks are solid this summer!

Shag-a-delic.

Shag-a-delic.

Another classic trend hitting the scene is the shag! Sounds crazy but stylists are really cranking these puppies out. This is a severely layered look that provides a lot of dimension. They are so fun, eye catching, and easily customizable for each client…man or woman, bang or no bangs, long or short, dark or light. The possibilities are endless and the final look is effortless.

Talk to us at your next appointment about these trends and we can show you how to make them work for you!
