No Sun. Air conditioning. Good stories. Let’s go to the movies!

Every year, Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial start of summer and what better way to kick it off than with a movie?! This weekend, another Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and a movie version of the hit 90’s show Baywatch opened on May 26th.

I love going to the movies in the summer! No only is it nice and air-conditioned, but some theaters like the AMC Dine In theaters, Studio Movie Grill, or the IPic theater sell adult beverages. I personally love Harkins theaters because they’re local. I always get the souvenir cup at the beginning of the year so I can get cheap drink refills. I also buy the t-shirt so I can get a free medium popcorn every time I go. (They say you’re supposed to wear the shirt, but I usually just bring it in my purse)

Some of the big movies opening up this summer include:

June 2nd: Wonder Woman-action, Captain Underpants-cartoon for the kids.
June 9th: The Mummy-From Sony’s new Dark Universe franchise, first of their monster movies, Beatriz at Dinner-probably will be getting some Oscar buzz.
June 16th: Cars 3-cartoon for the kids, All Eyez on Me-Tupac Shakur biopic, Rough Night-kind of a ladies version of The Hangover mixed with a little Weekend at Bernie’s.
June 21st: Transformers: The Last Knight with Mark Wahlberg.
June 30th: Despicable Me 3-cartoon for the kids. The House-comedy with Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler.
July 7th: Spider-Man: Homecoming-action.
July 14th: War For the Planet of the Apes-action.
July 21st: Dunkirk-new Christopher Nolan WWII movie with Tom Hardy.

Get out there and enjoy summer everyone!
