Pucker up! It's Valentine's Day!

Pucker up! It’s Valentine’s Day!

It’s that time of year…that time of year when cupid is in the air, shooting arrows at all the lovebirds. This particular year, Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday (tomorrow!), which is the ideal night for many to spend some quality time with their significant other. And though I don’t know exactly what I’ll be doing for Valentine’s, I sure have a few ideas of what I’d like to do.

My ideal Valentine’s night out would start with me setting aside some time to indulge in some serious primping. I’d curl my hair and put on my makeup, making sure to keep my makeup more natural and subdued to complement our warmer weather this week. For the hair, after curling it, I’d pull it back off my face on the sides, pinning them back. Pulling a few loose curls down to keep it a little more “undone” and whimsical – nothing too fussy.

For the ensemble of the eve, I’d keep it ultra feminine. I’m picturing a knee length dress with lace and/or ruffles that’s preferably off white or another soft color. Again, nothing too over the top. Depending on my mood, I’d pair it with either boots (more unexpected and relaxed) or some killer heels (to amp up the volume)!

My date would pick me up at 8 o’clock sharp, as we would have 8:30 dinner reservations at a steak house (The Capital Grille if I have anything to say about it). I’m thinking an amazing steak dinner with red wine, followed by dessert would be the best. After a delicious meal with great conversation, I’d be ready to call it a night and head home.

This might seem a little simple for some, but while Valentine’s night is exciting and enjoyable, I think it should mostly be about the two people getting quality one on one time together. In today’s busy world, sometimes a little QT is all we need.

And getting dolled up with a hot date over steak dinner doesn’t sound too shabby either, haha!

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!
