Balayage!

Are you thinking of trying a new hair color? How about trying a balayage?

But wait. What is a balayage anyway?

The hair coloring technique known as balayage is a french term that literally translates as “to sweep”. Depending on your colorist, it could include the use of plastic wrap, cotton, special papers or even foil as the hair is hand-painted with color. Truthfully, there are many ways to create an amazing balayage. Regardless of the technique used, balayage creates a soft and subtle look that creates an illusion of light, sun-kissed hair that has grown-out naturally.

What are some of the benefits of the balayage hair color trend? If you’re looking for a fresh look that doesn’t require too much thought or attention, this is the perfect change to make. Also, it is not a hair color service that is going to break your beauty budget bank. If you tend to shy away from getting lighter colors on your hair because the cost of upkeep can be expensive, let’s rethink this. This process tends to cost the same as your highlights, but because of its grown-out look, it requires way less maintenance on your end because you’re not a slave to coming back to the salon to get it retouched.

If you’re a darker haired beauty going lighter with this technique, you may find yourself getting warmer than you like inbetween hair color appointments. We recommend talking to your colorist regarding how to keep your fantastic new balayage looking great. Usually we send our balayage clients home with a lavender conditioner from Alfaparf Milano called “Pigments”. It can be mixed in a custom tone just for you by your colorist.

Making the decision to balayage is easy. As we have mentioned before, we offer complimentary consultations for all of our services. Sit down and talk to us about the beautiful, hand painted hair color you have been dreaming of. We got you!
