Ever since I was little, I’ve loved to braid hair and create interesting updos. I was so obsessed, my mom even bought me a few books on braiding when I was in elementary school.
In high school, I did my own hair for school dances and prom. Of course this led to me doing hair for my friends, too.
Today as a professional stylist, I’m always excited to learn new ways to create beautiful, fun, and easy styles for my clients.
I recently attended an all day class (alongside my fellow stylists Emily Claire Chelgren and Jillian Jorgensen) by a wonderful educator named Heather Chapman. I started following her on Instagram a while ago and she totally amazes me with the styles she creates! Emily Claire and I do a lot of bridal parties during wedding season, so it was perfect for us to learn together.
We got to watch Heather Chapman create styles for four hours and then we got to practice on our models for the remainder of the day. She also gave us some fabulous tips on how to photograph a model’s hairstyle as well as editing advice on the Instagram app.
We love taking advantage of education opportunities here at The Root Salon and this is one of my favorites so far. I really came away from it inspired and excited about the upcoming bridal and prom season and can’t wait use some of my new techniques!
So if you’ve got a big event coming up, book with me! I’d love to create the right style for you.
