We all know and love that lived-in look. It’s edgy, easy, and really looks great on anyone.
My favorite way to achieve this look starts with your blow out. I first put Aveda Volumizing Tonic at the root, then I apply Aveda Brillant Texturizing Gel mid lengths to ends. I then rough dry the hair (using a blow dryer but just running my hands through the hair) until it’s completely dry and apply Aveda Air Control hair spray to hold any natural curl.
Then I hit it with the curling iron. The thickness of your hair will determine what size barrel to use (I use an 1 1/4 inch). I wrap the hair around the barrel leaving the ends out, and I switch directions with every section.[/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”]
If you finish with the curling iron and the ends are too curled, simply smooth them out with a flat iron. In fact, this look can also be achieved using a flat iron to bend the hair.
When done, I apply Aveda Defining Whip on the ends. And the most critical part of this technique is practice! Practice makes perfect, after a couple times you will be a pro![/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
