Perfect brow achieved!

Perfect brow achieved!

It’s summer and everyone is getting a new color to brighten their day or chopping their hair off for a bounce in their step.

Another excellent way to make a change is perfecting your brows. Keeping the brows manicured seems to be an after thought for a lot of people but is really the final touch when bringing your look together. A great arch of the brows draws peoples attention to the eyes.

There are several ways to achieve this: waxing, tweezing and the newest way to the US, threading. Waxing is my personal favorite because it simple and quick with only a few seconds of “ouch factor”.

Tweezing is a longer and more painful process but if you are using certain topical medications or are too sensitive for waxing the same shaping can be achieved.

Threading is a process of using two very long and thin threads twisted in such a way that they actually tweeze the hair. It is faster and if done right less painful then traditional tweezing. The key is finding someone who know what they are doing. So make sure you are doing your research before you go.

After getting the perfect shape for your brows coloring them is next. Most people –especially if you are a more “mature” person — have some issues with thinning.

If you’re completely lacking brow in a certain area then a brow pencil is the way to go. The soft pencil color will adhere to the skin and provide a full coverage of the area.

If you just need a little filling in all over to make the brow look more full then a powder is the best way to achieve this. Match the powder to your natural hair color if you have dark hair. If your hair is very blonde then a slightly darker brow color (like light brown) is needed so you don’t get a washed out look. Use an angle brush for the best results and sweep gently across the brow.

My very favorite way to color my brows is in the salon with permanent hair color. It’s much faster and had longer lasting results. Plus you’ll have a beauty professional applying it for the best results.

No matter how you choose to shape and color your brows, we can’t stress enough that this is an absolute MUST to complete your look! And remember, a well-maintained brow NEVER goes out of style!
