2020 has been a messy ride, and along the way we’ve lost goals, and/or relationships, but it’s really important to keep some factors in mind to overcome these situations.

If you’ve experienced trauma or heartbreak, it’s ok if you thought you were over it but it suddenly hits you all over again. This is a normal part of processing grief and it doesn’t mean you’re weak.

Healing is a messy process and there’s no shame in others seeing your mess. It’s okay. Really. The people who love you will understand.

Let your heart rest! Try not to jump into anything new (relationship, job, or other big decisions) too fast.

You may be heartbroken but with time and self-love, this experience will strengthen your vision.

Whatever you do, don’t run back to what broke you!

Be patient with yourself; give yourself the grace you’d lend to someone you love who is hurting.

And finally, you’re strong enough to face it all, even if it feels like you’re not.
