With the summer solstice coming to a close there are many reasons to celebrate! The best celebrations can start or end with a handcrafted cocktail! One of my favorites is a classic tequila sunrise or mimosa, however recently I’ve been turned onto a quick, orange Cuban mojito. It’s light, packs a punch and is the perfect taste on a hot summer afternoon. Now usually I’d make this recipe with a rum but feel free to substitute other liquors or ingredients to make it your own! Now to start your beverage you’ll need: rum (or any liquor), a few mint leaves, lime juice, orange juice, sparkling soda or water, and ice. To begin you will want to mix & mash up the mint, 2 tsp of sugar, and 1 shot of lime juice. Fill the glass halfway with ice, add a shot of rum with a shot or two of orange juice. Top that with your bubbly water and garnish with mint! Boom, handcrafted cocktail within 5 minutes. However if you are feeling lazy and would rather go out for a cocktail, check out some neighborhood favorites!
