Hi! My name is Roxanne and I’m a Senior Stylist & Colorist at The Root Salon.

Most of my clients probably know all about me by now. But for those of you who are interested in booking with me, let me give you a little background.

I am 28 years old and I was born in Long Beach, CA. We moved to Phoenix when I was young so as far as I’m concerned, I was raised as an AZ girl. Speaking of girls, I come from a female-dominated family with two moms, one sister, and a step sister.

In other words, I had a whole bunch of gracious and patient “models” at the ready when I wanted to play with hair and make-up. Even though I loved working with beauty products, I had a brief affair with the idea of becoming a chef. This was my early teen years, however, and by age 17, I had come back around to my true passion in the beauty industry.

Not sure if I wanted to focus on hair or makeup, I met Lauren Hart (the current owner of The Root Salon) while I was bagging groceries at AJ’s Fine Food gourmet grocery store. She offered a assistant job to me and within 15 months, I was in beauty school.

Today, I have been working behind my chair on my growing clientele for seven years. I have traveled for advanced training to Italy, San Diego, L.A., and Las Vegas. I absolutely love what I do for a living! I believe that my strength is mentoring and teaching my clients to transform from an “everyday woman” to someone who feels gorgeous. This, of course, requires me to listen closely to what my clients want…which works out great for me because I truly enjoy talking to people and learning all about their interesting lives.

On a personal note, I have been married for four years and we just had our first baby, Phoebe. We have two dogs and are big animal lovers.
