Things get so crazy during the holidays and parties can sneak up on you. How do you come up with a cute twist on your day to day hair style in time for that last minute party?
We like a simple chignon. Follow these simple steps to getting this classic look that never goes out of style.
If your hair is not already curled from your day-time style, take a minute to put some big, loose curls in it with your curling iron. Then for a little extra holding power, sprinkle a little dry shampoo like Aveda’s Shampure right at the root of your hair. This will help absorb any excess oil from the day and keep your hair smelling fresh and clean.
Then, give the top of your hair a small amount of light back-combing. With your hands or a soft bristle brush, smooth your hair to the back of your head nice and low (you could even smooth your hair to one side low for a little asymmetrical action). Twist your hair loosely around and around until you have a soft knot. Secure with hair pins and set your new quick style into place with your favorite hair spray. Bows are big this winter so maybe pin a velvet bow just above your knot for a very festive flair!
