We don’t have to tell you it’s summer.
But we can tell you how to maintain attractiveness even in temperatures that are reaching 110 degrees (and counting). Check out what The Root Salon team said when we took a quick survey asking…
What will be your “go-to” ‘do for the hot summer months?
Lauren Hart says: My hair is pretty consistent. It is fine and straight so I pretty much always wear a classic bob, about chin length. For the summer months, I keep it much shorter to cut down my blow-dry time in the heat. I usually cut it two to three inches shorter beginning in May. If I know I am going to do summer traveling, I have been known to grow it out just enough to pull it back into a pretty barrette.
Emily Claire Chelgren says: “Go-to” look for me…TOP KNOT for sure! Maybe a sleek pony, too. I also always wear my bangs longer in the summer so they are easier to pull back or brush off my face.
Roxanne Montiel Pusch says: Anything that keeps my hair off the back of my neck! Top knot, ponytail…I even go for a short cut every few years. But for this summer, as a new mom, I’m more concerned with keeping little baby hands from yanking at my curly mane!
Emily Baczewski says: Top knot of course! Maybe with a fun headband or cute flower clip. Messy or sleek — perfect for mall hopping by day and bar hopping at night!
Eric Tuvale says: In the cooler months, I wear my hair blown out straight. With the heat of the summer, I wear my natural curl so when I sweat it doesn’t mess with my awesome look.
Alba Serrato: So far, I’m just muscling through the summer with my hair down. Even though it’s hot, I’m one of the few girls in town showing off her luscious locks!
Lilia Menconi: I don’t have a “go-to” style but I definitely modify things to accommodate the heat. If I wear my hair down, I’m sure to leave the house with wet hair to give me some evap cooling. If it’s up (usually in a high ponytail or bun), I definitely wear my bangs down to balance out my huge nos–er– “prominent facial features”. My hair is super long right now so for a casual Saturday, I pin back my bangs and go for a simple side braid.
