Here’s our Roxanne. She loves her life’s work!

Our Root Salon stylists work hard. Why? Because they love what they do. It’s not just work, it’s their life’s work. Here’s what Roxanne Montiel Pusch has to say about what she does every day of her life — and why she does it. Stay tuned for more Root Salon team members to share their thoughts about their life’s work.

Why hairdressing is good for my soul…

I love the physical world I live in and I feel I am a positive person.

So when I hear about the horrible things that happen around the world and in our own backyards, it’s a little traumatizing. When I imagine evil intentions, diseases, or abstract industries that lurk around dark corners, my feelings shut down. I can hardly wrap my head around the idea of these awful things that try to hurt my community!

I’m so grateful that I have a job that allows me to be the positive person I like to be.

When I come to The Root Salon, I walk in the back door and experience the beautiful, creative artwork on the wall. I am greeted with warmth, a big smile, a ” good morning,” my helpful team members, and pleasant music.

Even if I couldn’t speak or hear, the physical part of hairdressing is so rewarding. We shape styles, we frame faces, we complement features.

We lighten spirits.

My work does not break. It’s not useless and I will always work hard for it to not be wasteful. It makes me confident and I know it makes my clients confident.  My work supports my family. It helps me help others.

It’s a beautiful product.

Each day, I look at my schedule and get excited to see the people I have the fortune to spend my day with. I honestly can’t  count the number of memories I have sharing stories with my clients.  I have shared many things — tears, secrets, and more — and have received the same from them. It’s true what they say. You get what you give. Treat people the way you want to be treated.

I believe that I do. And, as a result, the day’s work that follows me home is so fulfilling.

I sincerely wish everyone had this sense of satisfaction in their profession.

For me, my life’s work just has to feel good to the soul.

Your love of work is why you are so amazingly good at what you do. I hope I never have to have anyone else ever “touch” my hair!

Roxanne is a super talented hair colorist and stylist. She genuinely cares and it shows. I always look forward to my appointments not only for my hair maintenance but also because I love my time with her. She is a special person and I am happy to hear how much fulfillment she receives from her work. Not many people can say that about their jobs!
