As a young boy I was always out and about getting my hands dirty, trying to figure life out and the way stuff works. This led to random dead-end jobs from general construction to bar tending.
Even though they weren’t long-term, these odd jobs taught me how to work hard. The two main things I took away was that I like working with my hands and I like socializing.
Never would I (or my friends and family) have thought that I would become a hairdresser. But, to my surprise, within about two days of hair school, I came to the realization that I actually stumbled upon my passion.
Every day, I truly love what I do and continue to learn about myself and my craft.
I gambled with a student loan and I hit the jackpot.
Like I said, I got lucky.
