“One cat just leads to another…”
I have been a dog owner most of my life until my middle twenties. Previously, I was more of a dog person than a cat person and then suddenly I found myself adopting a little devil into my life (aka my cat Indy) which then turned into having three cats not too long after.
Which then turned into a large obsession with the felines! And yes, I own several cat shirts, I stop to speak to every cat that crosses my path, but most importantly, all and any cat videos are welcomed my way. Having cats have changed my life for the better and now I can’t image not being graced by their presence.
Here are five reasons on why cats rule and…well, dogs drool (tbh why cat owners are better).
1. Cats are compact animals
They can live in smaller homes. Unless your cat is extremely obese, they adapt to smaller spaces. If there’s a will, there’s a way for them, even if it means hanging out in a cabinet, counter, or closet shelves.

Cats are extremely independent
Cats can take care of themselves. They use the rest room, entertain, eat and hang out with themselves. (Or in my case, with each other.) But once you come home you bet they will be sitting or laying right on top of whatever you’re doing!
3. Cats are problem solvers
When you’re sad, disappointed or just relaxing, they will be there to melt your heart and hang out with no strings attached (they don’t need walks or to play fetch). If they want or need something, they’ll find a way to get it themselves. If they want water, they will make themselves at home and just drink from your cup.

Cats are more intelligent
They tend to have more human characteristics and understand more on an emotional level with their owners. Some say because they don’t come when their name is called, they don’t understand or know their name. Oh no, they know their name, they just choose to not listen or do what you’re saying. The reality is, cats are so clever that if they escaped the house, they would be able to find their way home. Felines have also been worshiped and seen as Gods for thousands of years, so they must be doing something right!
5. Cats are introverts
They tend to keep to themselves and not go out of their comfort zone when it comes to, well, anything! They sleep most of the day and prefer solitude. They are quiet animals for the most part and mind their own business unless they follow you in the restroom!
Hope this made you love cats as much as I do!
