Master Colorist, Laurén Hart, owns The Root Salon and boasts over forty years of professional hands-on experience. Hart was trained in Italy with the chemists at Alfaparf and is the only American Board Certified Master Colorist in Phoenix. She has taught the fundamentals of Italian hair color around the globe. She spent years under the training of color icon Beth Minardi and completed her hands on training with her in New York. The Root Salon is one of the few Alfaparf Flagship salons in the world, an honor that Hart is very proud of. She specializes in corrective hair color and continues to mentor The Root Salon team on a daily basis. Laurèn works closely with the senior members of the team to ensure the proper training of each and every team member to ensure the very best out come for our guests.This beauty industry veteran loves what she does and takes the salon’s reputation quite seriously. She is a dedicated family girl who loves gardening and is an excellent cook.

Brittany studied cosmetology at Toni & Guy Academy in 2006. She continued her education and became a certified manufactures' educator/ambassador for Redken. Brittany spent the next years traveling across the country educating other stylists on hair color and cutting principles. She has had the privilege to work hands on with top platform artists. She has passion for photo shoots and session work. Brittany has worked backstage doing hair and make-up.

Brittany strives to serve the best customer experience possible. She customizes styles to meet the guest’s individual personalities. She offers advanced services in hair color, cutting, smoothing treatments and updos/event styling. When Brittany is not behind the chair, she loves spending time with her daughter and pup, cooking, playing basketball, and shopping. Whether you want a complete transformation or a voluminous blow out, Brittany is your girl!

Shane Mullins comes to us all the way from Atlanta Georgia, and has the southern charm and accent to prove it. Graduated from the Paul Mitchell School of Atlanta, over 14 years ago and he hasn’t slowed down since. He is passionate for hair for both men and woman clients. He specializes in French technique of haircutting, and is a master in his craft of Balayage.

His artistic approach for color is to enhance a clients beauty by creating brightness yet balancing it with depth. He creates glamorous color that has a more natural grow out, keeping your hair gorgeous long term! His precision men's cuts gives his client more than just another buzz cut. His clipper over comb technique is seamless. He takes pride in teaching you how to maintain your look at home. Shane values education as a tool to keep growing artistically and to be able to give his clients what they need. Did we mention that Shane is an avid Harley rider and outdoorsman.

Jules comes form the West Texas town of El Paso. He moved to Phoenix three years ago to expand his career opportunities. He has always had a love for all things aesthetic and the hair industry was a natural fit for him. He is most passionate about creating beautiful blondes. Wether a guest wants a soft balayage or a striking Nordic or silver hue he will expertly recommend the best technique to achieve a clients dream hair. He excels at fashion colors. He is best know for creating long flowing glamorous hair. Certified with Babes hair extensions he can create instant length for his clients. Education is a huge focus and is eager to stay on top of new trends. Jules pays special attention with each guest to make sure they can improve their hair health at home. He is passionate about traveling and cooking. He loves to explore different cultures as well as unique style trends.

Tyler has been a color specialist for 15 years in South Florida and recently followed his dreams to Phoenix. He is a welcome addition to our senior team of colorists. He is a master at blondes and redheads, preferring natural, effortless looks. He has travelled the country being featured in professional hair shows. His resume reflects his many years as an educator and mentor. In his free time, Tyler loves finding inspiration in nature, fashion and museums. He is an animal lover and enjoys playtime with his dogs.

Mikee Leon has been a licensed hairdresser for 16 years, graduating from the Toni & Guy Academy in 2005. He spent 6 years with Toni & Guy where he obtained advanced training and specialized in cuts. Mikee then moved on to working in private salons where he built a robust client base. After taking a break from the salon world he’s excited to be back in it, working at The Root Salon with long time friend, and salon owner Laurèn Hart. Now, after several years of advanced color training with her, Mikee shares her passion for the art of hair color. When asked what he missed most about hairdressing Mikee replied “I missed making my clients feel good and providing them a memorable experience.” Mikee specializes in all type of hair cutting and coloring. He especially loves cutting short hair. Fun fact about Mikee: He has been a hard core Lady Gaga fan since she stared her performing career. He has even been pulled up on stage by her during one of her shows!!!

Amanda completed cosmetology school from regency beauty institute in Illinois. She then started working at Aveda lifestyle salons where she continued her education with top Aveda stylists. She was tutored by some of the best in the industry.After being a stylist for 7 years in the Chicago area, she moved to Scottsdale to continue her career here at The Root Salon.

Amanda has a strong passion for the beauty industry and making her guests feel and look their absolute best. She has an eye for natural beauty and that reflects in her work. She believes everyone processes beauty and loves to show her guests how to make the most of it.

These days when Amanda is not at the salon she is very busy planning her up-coming wedding.

Meet Jada, Jada is new to the area all the way from Fargo, North Dakota. Before relocating to the valley, was a stylist for 4 years in a salon she loved. She studied cosmetology at LATI and went straight to work at the salon .She has loved salon life ever since! We are happy to say that she joins The Root Salon Team.

Jada loves everything about doing hair. She excels at balayage and vivid colors. If you are looking for help shaping your eyebrows, she is your girl.

When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, playing piano, and adventuring around her new city which she finds beautiful. She can’t wait to meet you !

Amaya is a very passionate and enthusiastic individual who takes pride in her artwork. She started her journey in the industry at a young age and got her cosmetology license at 19. When not assisting to the finest stylists in Phoenix, you can find her in the mall looking for the latest trends and spending quality time with family and friends. Amaya is looking to be an expert in color and styling and is well on her way as she learns from our senior team. Ever since she taught herself how to french braid in her preteen years, her family never stopped asking her to learn more styles. Practicing on them began to grow and foster her love for hair! This girl always has a bubbly and positive attitude in any situation. She is truly dedicated to making your hair wishes come true!

Megan’s middle name should be exuberant. This beautiful girl has been part of The Root Salon team for 15 years. She spent several years as the salon manager and right arm to our owner. Megan LOVES taking care of our guests and they love Megan too! After some time away in college and to pursue her full time career, Megan has come back to our salon family serving our guests on the weekends. She always has a welcoming smile and uplifting attitude. Our weekend team is always happy to work with her as things just seam to go so smoothly when this lady is in charge. If your salon visits are usually on the weekends, you will see for yourself the pride she takes in providing the best in customer service.

Megan is getting married next year, is a strict vegetarian, and just bought her first home!

Born and raised in sunny Phoenix,Arizona; Norma has been in the customer service industry since she was 17 years old. Norma loves to make sure anyone who comes into the salon is accommodated and comfortable. She will be sure to greet you with a smile as soon as you walk in to The Root. Norma is one of our front desk employees who is bilingual and will do the best she can to make sure your experience is as smooth as possible. She is not only kind towards our beloved clients, but towards your stylist as well. At any moment she can and she will make the stylist's job easier any way she can. When not in the salon, Norma likes to spend her time with family, friends, and her baby (pet chihuahua) Tobi. She also enjoys her time going out and seeing new places with her loved ones.
