Today, I’m writing about the importance of relationships, friendships and all of our interactions in general.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized how important these relationships are and just how exactly they affect our life and everyday mental health. I look back over the years of friends who have come and gone and I’m so lucky for all the ones that were truly meant to stay and are here.

One of the most important areas of personal growth is accepting and allowing myself to let go of negative relationships. Cutting out people can seem hurtful, and is so difficult when the change is first made. But as time passes, it becomes easier to see with a clear perspective that the past relationship was toxic.

One thing about being an adult that I am so grateful for is that we always have a choice. Ultimately, it’s up to us to decide if we invite another person to share our journey or kindly say, “No, thanks.”

Life is so short and in the end, I only want to be around the people whom I love, care about and respect!
