It’s time for another Root Salon Stylist Questionnaire!
See what our team has to say about their superior style when it comes to head-to-toe looks from the past and some forward-thinking styles for the future. This week, the big boss herself weighs in…
1. What’s your favorite head to toe look you’ve worn in the past 6 months?
All my Michael Kors. He has that Jet set sportswear look that really fits my lifestyle right now. I love red and black which are essential to Michael Kors. He takes into consideration that not all women are 6 feet tall and blonde and that we need to function, stylishly, from morning to night. His clean lines work well with my short, sleek bob that is my signature cut.
2. What’s a head to toe look you can’t wait to try out in the fall and winter season?
I love Ralph Lauren Black label, all that rich camel coloring with tailored sleek and sharp lines. I want the black skinny leggings with the warm oversized faux fur scarf with that fabulous leather tailored jacket. Black Booties and big rookie leopard bag is spot on for me.
3. What’s the wildest or most fashion forward look you’ve ever sported?
I grew up in the disco era so yes I had the feathered hair, Danskin wrap skirt with matching striped tank — all in maroon. Sky high stilettos, I think, were gold and by Halston.
4. What’s a hair trend that you wish was still in style?
I am missing old-school Hollywood glamor. I just pinned a photo of Lauren Bacall that Town and Country Magazine posted. It’s an amazing photograph! Believe it or not, I wish women were more open to the set, controlled look of this era. It’s just so classic. With the evolution of the Sassoon influence of free-form style and moment of hair, hairstyles became less set and the glamor of a perfect set became faux pas. With the recent popularity of the series Mad Men, I have enjoyed seeing a rise in the popularity of this look.
5. What’s your #1 source for hair, fashion, and general style inspiration?
As an artist I am inspired by numerous sources whether its Pinterest, the red carpet, or the teenager I see at my favorite cafe doing something courageous with her hair and outfit. The world is my stage for inspiration.
